Regional Water Resources Assistance

The Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board (CNY RPDB) works with and on behalf of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) on a wide variety of water resources projects that impact Central New York, including assistance with outreach and public participation, development of inventories and watershed strategies, fostering regional partnerships and collaboration, and participating on county water quality coordinating committees.

Specific projects or activities conducted under Regional Water Resources Assistance (also commonly referred to as the CNY RPDB's Baseline Program) include or have included the following:

• Regional Strategy for Addressing Water Chestnut;

• State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Phase II Stormwater Permit;

• Regional Nonpoint Source Strategy Meetings;

• Regional Floodplain and Stormwater Management Symposium;

• National Flood Insurance Program Workshops;

• Regional Water Quality Activities Inventory;
