Ballston Lake Watershed Protection & Management Plan

The Ballston Lake watershed hasn’t experienced large-scale growth but the extension of water lines along Route 50 has raised concerns about impending development. Development related activities have degraded fishery resources in many areas of Saratoga County and are a possible threat to Ballston Lake’s water quality. This report identifies existing and future land use related threats to the Ballston Lake watershed and provides ways to protect Ballston Lake’s natural water resources.

Stormwater

The Storm Water Phase II Rule is the next step in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's effort to preserve, protect, and improve the nation's water resources from polluted storm water runoff. Phase II is intended to further reduce adverse water quality and aquatic habitat conditions by instituting the use of controls on the unregulated sources of storm water discharges that have the greatest likelihood of causing environmental degradation.
