Water resource program activities

Flood and Hazard Mitigation Planning

G/FLRPC helps municipalities with risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and stakeholder and public outreach.  G/FLRPC can develop flood & hazard mitigation plans and evaluate appropriate mitigation activities to reduce or eliminate the long-term risks posed by these hazards. Water Resource Planning

G/FLRPC provides services to protect and improve water quality and quantity and is able to examine and coordinate water resource issues at a watershed wide level.  Services include watershed management planning, wellhead protection and implementation of state and federal regulations.  Assistance is provided to member municipalities with land use regulation and their relationship to water quality, proposal and grant development, and outreach and education. Stormwater

G/FLRPC helps municipalities that are working to minimize stormwater runoff. Additional information: Phase II Stormwater Regulation.

Watershed Planning and Implementation Projects

G/FLRPC provides assistance to municipalities with lake and watershed management plans and with the review of local laws to protect water quality and quantity. A comprehensive list of projects is found below.
