Intergovernmental Coordination
The primary goal of the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board's Intergovernmental Coordination program is to promote an understanding of public policy issues effecting communities in Central New York. To acheive this goal, the CNY RPDB provids a forum for the discussion of issues through its bimonthly board meetings. Topics discussed in recent years include
Water Quality Improvements in Central New York,
the New York Interconnect,
Environmental and Economic Benefits of Biorefineries,
Erie Canal Greenway Program,
Brownfield Redevelopment Program in Oswego County,
Canal/Waterfront Revitalization in CNY,
Southern Tier Energy Purchasing Alliance,
Indian Land Claim issues in Central New York,
Essential New York Initiative,
Historical glimpse of the Board’s role in the establishment of the International Boxing Hall of Fame,
Cooperative Marketing Programs in Cayuga County,
and the Role of Agriculture in Economic Development.
As part of this effort, the agency also sponsors regional roundtables and local government training workshops, including the following:
