Water resource program activities
Stormwater
Topography in the region causes flash floods and severe erosion and sedimentation so Southern Tier West is proposing a strong Construction Permit based work program.
STWRPDB assists regional county planning board and municipalities with implementing land use/stormwater management ordinances, and with mapping and inventory of stormwater infrastructure through GIS and GPS technologies. STWRPDB assists non-regulated municipalities in forming coalitions to address stormwater management and in creating districts to provide sustainable funding.
STWRPDB provides training, education, and outreach to regional contractors, municipal officials, developers, and residents. It also maintains a resource library to provide multi-media materials for training, reference, and presentations.
